These products will prevent just adding a new coat of oil or water-based polyurethane by keeping the finish from adhere properly and resulting in the finish peeling and flaking. Applying a coat of finish is the best way to bring back the sheen, shine or luster to your existing floors.

Some people wax their flooring or have used a tung oil type product when finishing their new floors. When the fading of color or sheen starts to appear in these cases, applying another coat of wax or the original tung oil product that was used on your flooring, should always bring the fading of color and sheen back to their original look.
